  Sun Shades:
 During the 2008-09 school year, the New Mexico School for the Blind and Visually Impaired was a proud recipient of the American Academy of Dermatology grant for shade structures. NMSBVI used the grant money to purchase 2 shade structures that were placed in the playground over the swings. Thank you American Academy of Dermatology for helping us keep our students sun-safe!

Low Vision Optical Aids & Lift Equipment:
 Also during the 2008-09 school year, NMSBVI received funds from the Daniel’s Fund grant to purchase low vision optical aids to assist visually impaired students with print material; as well as to purchase lift equipment to ensure the safe movement and physical transition of students with multiple disabilities.
