NMPED Re-entry Guide

WE FACE A PUBLIC HEALTH CRISIS that has fundamentally changed our lives and our communities in unprecedented ways. For many New Mexican students, educators, and families, the start of the 2020–2021 school year is marked by profound uncertainty and a sense of loss brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the fear and hardship the virus has caused, New Mexicans from all walks of life and all areas of the state have come together in amazing ways and through noteworthy sacrifce to contain the spread of the virus in our state to an incredible degree. NMSBVI COVID-19 PREVENTION: ENHANCED CLEANING AND DISINFECTION PROTOCOLS

In alignment with public health recommendations, NMSBVI is taking measures to prevent community spread of COVID-19, which includes undertaking enhanced cleaning and disinfection procedures. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) has recommended enhanced cleaning and disinfection procedures for schools to follow during the COVID-19 public health situation.

The following requirements are based upon New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham’s Executive Orders, New Mexico Department of Health Orders, CDC Best Practices, and practicing good common sense during a pandemic. As a general note, these conditions and requirements listed are only to be followed during the time the pandemic is in existence.

COVID19 - Dr. Owl Screening

Beginning Monday, August 3, all staff will be required to take a COVID19 screening and take their own temperatures prior to coming onto campus using our Dr. Owl link below. If you have any symptoms, please stay home and contact your supervisor.

Child Care & Child Supervision Supports During Remote and Hybrid Models

As we prepare for reentry next month in a remote model, both NM Public Education Department (PED) and NM Early Childhood Education & Care Department (ECECD) are working together to provide technical assistance and resources to all school districts and charter schools as they support their students’ families, and their educators, in accessing child care and child supervision programs during remote and hybrid models.

The NMRECA (New Mexico Regional Education Cooperatives Association) is working with New Mexico Public Education Department and the New Mexico Early Childhood Education & Care Department to assist families in finding available Child care services while schools are operating in a remote or hybrid environment.
