Alamogordo, Residential Campus Opportunities

Health Services Manager

Position is for the New Mexico School for the Blind and Visually Impaired in Alamogordo, New Mexico. Administers, plans, and supervises nursing services to all visually and/or multiply impaired students including carrying a student caseload, screening, assessment, evaluation, intervention, and referrals to physician or other health care providers. Initiates and supervises the development and maintenance of department policies and required student and staff health training requirements. A Master’s degree in Nursing or in a health related field, and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in nursing with 2 years’ experience in a supervisory position, is required. Nurse Practitioners are welcome to apply. NM Board of Nursing License and licensure through the NM Public Education Department are required. Required to become Braille proficient. Full time, 12 month position. Applications accepted until filled.

Education Substitutes assist with instructional tasks in classroom. Substitutes are on an “as-needed” and “on-call” basis. Applications may be picked up at the below listed address and are accepted until filled.

Lifeguards

New Mexico School for the Blind and Visually Impaired is seeking applications for Lifeguards. Duties include: PE swimming classes, recreation program and may include other outside scheduled activities. Successful candidate must possess current lifeguard certification or be willing to acquire. This is a 9 month substitute position usually scheduled Tuesday and Thursday with approximately 10 to 12 hours per week. Applications will be accepted until filled.

Speech Therapist

New Mexico School for the Blind and Visually Impaired is seeking application for a Speech Therapist. The speech language therapist is responsible for all diagnostic services which include diagnosis of speech, language, and voice disorders and for implementation of therapeutic measures to students with visual impairments. BS degree or higher in Speech Therapy, eligible for New Mexico PED licensure is required. Background/experience in teaching students with visual/multiple impairments preferred. Residential Life Assistant

The New Mexico School for the Blind and Visually Impaired is currently recruiting a part-time evening Residential Life Assistant. Will be required to provide individual and group guidance services related to scholastic, educational, personal hygiene and social skill development to students who are blind/visually impaired, with/without other impairments. Part-time nine-month evening position: 3:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Applications accepted until filled.

Substitute Teacher

The New Mexico School for the Blind and Visually Impaired Early Childhood Program is seeking Substitute Teachers. Substitutes work in the classroom with students and support instructional learning. Substitutes are on an “as-needed” and “on-call” basis. Looking for someone to fill the position for the 2022-2023 school year.

ECP Custodian/Housekeeper

New Mexico School for the Blind and Visually Impaired Early Childhood Program is seeking a qualified individual for a building custodian/housekeeper. Duties include but are not limited to: keeping the inside premises of NMSBVI buildings in clean and orderly condition to include performing housekeeping and minor maintenance functions in buildings as required. Successful candidate must possess a strong work ethic and be detailed-oriented. Prior housekeeping, cleaning and varied floor experience preferred. This is a full time, 12 month position.

Driver/Caregiver, Substitute

The New Mexico School for the Blind and Visually Impaired is recruiting for a substitute Driver/Caregiver. Background/experience in transporting or working with children with visual impairments and/or multiple disabilities is preferred. Required to assist with self-help routines with students. Driving will include routes to Gallup and Farmington on weekends. Good driving record required. This is a 9 month substitute position with extended runs on Fridays and Sundays and occasional Mondays. Physical Therapist

New Mexico School for the Blind and Visually Impaired Early Childhood Program in Albuquerque is currently recruiting a part-time Physical Therapist. Required to provide services for young children with visual impairments and/or multiple disabilities. Prefer Physical Therapist with experience in early childhood. Experience with visual impairment and equipment a plus. Position for the 2022-2023 school year for approximately 3 days per week. Applications accepted until filled.
